Beavers Bend State Park
Where is Broken Bow and Beavers Bend?
This area is in the south-east corner of Oklahoma. It is a 3 hour trip from Tyler, Texas, and about three and a half hour trip from Dallas. Beavers Bend sits on the south end of Broken Bow Lake.
What is there to do?
If you are looking to hike, there are a ton of trails in the Beavers Bend State Park. If you want to do something on the lake, there are several places to rent equipment, such as boat and kayak rentals. There are also scenic cliffs and rocks located throughout the state parks. The best part of this area is that there are a lot of nice cabin rentals. If you are there to be one with nature and relax on a three-day weekend this is the place to do it!
If you are staying in Beavers Bend/Broken Bow during the end of October, the staff at beavers bend put on a haunted house in the Forrest Heritage Center. Something else we did during our stay in October was carve pumpkins, so make sure you bring some pumpkins and carving tools!
A Hidden Gem
At the Broken Bow Dam there is a hidden road called Beavers Bend Rd., if you follow this road about half a mile there is a stream from the river that has been formed into the surrounding rocks. This might be the most beautiful and instagramable place we saw during our stay!
